Waiting for Love by Paul Dateh as performed by Ken Belcher - guitar [http://kenbelcher.com] Paul Dateh - vocals [http://pauldateh.com] My good friend Ken Belcher and I recently had our very first livestream show at http://live.pauldateh.com. Here's one of the songs we performed: Waiting for Love. It's an old song that I wrote way back when I was 18, and I'm really embarrassed to sing it now. But, Ken insisted that we play it at the show, so here it is! :) More video to come soon. Updates on the album are on the way, too. Stay tuned. [Very special thanks to The Bui Brothers for the awesome video footage! http://thebuibrothers.com]

Recently, I went on my first international tour, and I was able to spend eight days in the city of Berlin, Germany. This is my musical and visual recap of my time there. Berlin is an amazing city for the creatively-inclined - theres art EVERYWHERE. Ive never seen anything like it before. Every street is an art gallery! However, the city of Berlin has a very complicated past, and there are still very visible scars of the horrible things that happened there. There are areas of the city that give off a heavy, sad energy, and its a feeling that stays with you even after youve gone to another area. But, todays Berlin is doing its best to make up for the past and build a better, peaceful future. The abundant street art is likely a result of that process. All in all, Berlin is a very intriguing place, and I would very much like to visit the city again in the future. [For more photos & video of my time in Berlin, check out flickr.com/photos/pauldateh.]

I'm going on my very first international tour. Actually, it's my first tour... ever! I'll be on the road with Louis Logic and Blueprint for a two-week run throughout the UK and Europe. You can see the full tour schedule on my website at pauldateh.com/tour. Check out the amazing artists I have the honor of sharing the stage with: Louis Logic - myspace.com/louislogic Blueprint - myspace.com/blueprint While on the road, I'll definitely post as much video as I can. Of course, I'll be uploading photos to Flickr, as well as updating via Twitter. Yes, going on this tour is the "slight delay" in my album recording that I mentioned in my previous post (6.19.08. album rehearsals). However, nothing has taken my heart away from the album project, and as soon as I get back in town, I'll be right back to recording again. Don't worry, I'll make sure to keep you in the loop with regular project updates. :) If you happen to live close to any of the cities on the upcoming tour, it would be great to see you at the show! Otherwise, I look forward to continue hanging out with you all online. Hope you're all having a great day, pd

*Please subscribe to see more videos like this* My good friend Alex was in town this week from New York City, and I thought it would be fun if we made a quick video that covered the basic differences between the viola and the violin. Although the violin is a beautiful instrument, you just can't the kind of robust tone from a violin that you would from a viola. I hope to get a viola for myself one day! Also, I'll have an video update on my album recording next week. Stay tuned. :)

*Please subscribe!* The music in this video is something I came up with earlier today, and I wanted to record it before I forgot it. It's kind of growing on me, and I'm thinking about developing it further so I can put it on my upcoming album. Speaking of the album, I've been working on new music to put on the project. As soon as pre-production ends in January, the real recording will begin. I hope to have everything mixed and mastered by April, which means I better be smart about what I do with my time! I know the music in this video isn't anything like the music from my previous video, but don't worry: the album will have plenty of hip hop on it. ;) Oh yeah, the new site is coming in January. (http://pauldateh.com)

just wanted to show off my leg/foot movements. big ups to pauldateh for this song. heard it an HAD TO do something to it. i did 2 vids like this, the other is on my myspace (spida_mack).

We've been hanging out together online for quite a while now, I have to say that I'm really enjoying getting to know you! Your comments, video responses, and emails frikkin' rock. Thanks for sending them, and keep sending more! When I open my email inbox, however, there's one question that I see over and over again: "When is the album coming out?" Due to my touring schedule, the album release has been slightly delayed. Believe me, I really want this album done, but it has to be done right. Out of respect for you, the listener, I want to make sure that I put my best work forward. Please be patient, because I promise it'll be worth the wait. Significant progress is being made on the project, however. This week, we finished pre-production and are now in rehearsals. We officially begin recording the album next week! Stay tuned. There's much more video to come in the following weeks. Best wishes to you and yours, pd

Last month, I promised a site and show launch for January, and I still plan to do so! While I get everything ready for the actual launch of the site and show, check out this preview video that documents the events of my past week: performing at the Los Angeles Philharmonic's "Concrete Frequency" event; opening up with DJ Johnny Juice for Public Enemy and DMC at the Hard Rock Las Vegas; and exhibiting for Skullcandy and Beyond.FM at CES 2008! *I forgot to link DMC in the video! Make sure check out this hip hop legend at http://me-dmc.com. Preparations for the the album recording are wrapping up, and I plan to go into official production at the end of this month. I'll be sure to post video of my progress whenever I can. Finally, if you're going to be in Los Angeles over the next two weeks, check out my show schedule below (more dates may be added!): 1.17.08 - 1-21.08: 2008 NAMM Show - Anaheim, CA [trade only, not open to public] 1.24.08: Knitting Factory Los Angeles - Hollywood, CA [opening for Grouch & Eligh of Living Legends] 1.26.08: Genghis Cohen - Los Angeles, CA [performing a special acoustic set with guitarist Ken Belcher] Hope you're all having a great day! pd [Episode music provided by Inverse.
