this video from nicovideo sm909985 U.S. Army ARMOR Magazine 1999 —Tank Assessment Survey Ranks— 「The third-place finisher is a surprise, coming from a nation never known for its tank technology. The Japanese Type 90,built by Mitsubishi, visually resembles the Leopard 2, uses the 120mm gun originally developed by Rheinmetall, and adds an automatic loader, permitting a three-man crew. Neither the governmentor the contractor have put out much information on the Type 90, making it a sort of "mystery tank," but the Type 90 is, according to the report, "thoroughly modern and sophisticated, even more advanced in some of the areas of fire control and vehicle electronics than the highly publicized (French) Leclerc, Leopard 2A5, and M1A2. "It is the fire control suite and advanced vehicle electronics that really make the Type 90 a world-class tank. The well known Japanese prowess in electronics has been exploited to the fullest extent in the Type 90. While some details remain clouded in secrecy, the fire control suite has an automatic target tracking capability and it has long been rumored that some sort of target recognition/queuingand/or threat prioritization capability is incorporated in the suite." The Type 90 is powered by a 1,500 hp Mitsubishi diesel that provides a power-to-weight ratio similar to other world-class tanks. At 50 tons, the Type 90 is less heavily armored than designs intended for combat in Western Europe and the crew compartment is thought to be cramped. "All these things considered, the Type90 is one of the top operational tanks in the world today," the report concludes.」 http://doc.danfahey.com/Tanks-ArmorMag.pdf http://www.knox.army.mil/armormag/ Forecast International 2004 —Re-evaluates Main Battle Tank Market— 「Japan's Type 90, by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, maintains its third-place position on the Forecast International list. Drawing heavily on German Leopard 2 technology, the Type 90 is arguably the most technologically advanced main battle tank in service today. However, the Type 90 suffers from being untried in combat. As such, its performance remains essentially theoretical.」 http://www.forecastinternational.com/press/release.cfm?article=17 The Type 90 and all its subsystems have been designed and built in Japan, with the exception of the 120mm smoothbore gun, which is made under licence from Rheinmetall of Germany. The German Tank technology (Krauss-Maffei) is not included in Japanese Type90 MBT (Exclude Rh120mm gun). Because there is not information about Type90 MBT, in the west, wrong information based on a supposition spreads out. This Engligh Website is Comparatively correct information about Type90 MBT. http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product.php?prodID=1008&PHPSESSID=57c7c1e28e1df7112d8f3879bf512450

Mitchell Joachi insists that his plans are not futuristic. As the Executive Director for Terreform, a "philanthropic design collective," he is responsible for progressive solutions for current problems. Save for the overt reliance on CGI imagery, the plans he presented at Postopolis! seem robustly conditional on collective goodwill, but still grounded on hard statistics and grounded feasibilities. In the video above, he outlines his company's plans in three main areas: the city, ecology, and mobility. Electric Mobility Scooter Reviews. 3 and 4 wheel. Up to 500 pound capacity. Golden Technologies Avenger 4 Heavy duty 4 wheel Scooter. I'm not a pro, I just want to share so others can see one of these rarely reviewd scooters. These scooters are superb and reviews are few, so I'll post one about my Avenger. This is a great scooter! It is very HIGH QUALITY. I have owned many scooters and powerchairs. I did a lot of research to find the most reliable low maintence scooter with easy to buy parts, (out of 'MY' own pocket), should I need them. And one to handle long drives on hot days here in Escondido, Ca. I drive the heck out of this scootor for long periods. That is what I bought it for. I have a powerchair for short period cool use and travel on busses, trains etc. I get the same 15-18 mile BATTERY range from both my Avenger and my Pride. My Golden Avenger 4 fits into my apartment ELEVATER, goes up and easily drives into my 3rd floor apartment. I also take it grocery shopping up and down normal size isles. In small shops with cramped isles, I drive in and have the clerk fetch what I want. My Golden Technologies Avenger 4 is very rugged, is high quality construction and the design was well thought out. Has a big 4 pole motor. 4 pole motors provide more POWER, RUN COOLER, and HAVE LONGER LIFE than the 2 pole motors found in most other scooters. 2 pole motors are made for intermittent use, not long drives. So with my Golden Avenger 4, I can go out in 100 degre weather without cooking the motor. I have burned up several 2 pole motors in long hot use, so I know. Still it is wise to not push even the best motor to it's limits, so for long life, let it rest now and then when in excessive temperatures. It is easy to handle and FAST at 7 mph. I've taken shortcuts through open fields and bumpy dirt roads. The batteries are the same as my Pride Jazzy Select 14. 2 Big 55AH batteries. Like all heavy use electric mobility vehicals, it needs to be charged DAILY to insure long battery life, (if you use it daily) . It has a very BRIGHT headlight. Has Front and rear emergency flashers and turn signals. The unit is BIG, has strong bumpers and weighs a lot. It is the Escalade of scooters. My Avenger easily goes through standard doorways inspite of my 28" armrest setting. It is a very Sporty Cool looking unit. It looks more like a desert ATV than a handicap mobility scooter. It is an impresseve eye catcher. I get compliments and questions every day. I am so pleased with this scooter, I had to write something.

In this video podcast straight from Intel's Spring IDF in Shanghai, the spotlight is on the keynote demos that showed power and performance in newer, smaller and more innovative form factors, many powered by the Intel's Atom processor. Many of the demonstrations focused on mobility, and they all provided an exciting look at some of the technologies that are just around the corner. Dr. Ren Ng, president and CEO of Refocus Imaging, led a demo of his company's light field cameras, which record the full light field as it enters the camera, ultimately extending the capabilities of conventional digital cameras and "turning camera hardware into software." Ng explains that by doing this, light field cameras "bring the economics and power of Moore's Law to the camera system." (snapshots from their Web site illustrate the demo, which they re-created live, on stage at IDF!). Also on hand was Dr. Mendel Rosenblum, co-founder and chief scientist at VMware. He shared the stage with Intel Senior Vice President and General Manager, Digital Enterprise Group, Pat Gelsinger, to demonstrate a flex migration across four generations of hardware as well as the value of the deep collaboration between Intel and VMware. There was a live demo by Classmate PC, following the news-making announcement of the new, second generation classmate ("featuring a 9-inch LCD screen, 6-cell battery, 512MB memory, a 30GB hard disk drive and a built-in webcam"), the unveiling of Intel's Tukwila Itanium processor ("Two billion transistors in one processor"), and a mobility-focused Asianux demoonstration of the breadth of Moblin Usage, including a new way to play video from the Web and a new way to order Chinese food. A Montevina demo was noteworthy after Intel Senior Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Mobility Group, Dadi Perlmutter, revealed that Intel's next generation mobile platform, Montevina, will provide twice the 3D processing power of any current integrated solution. Demos showcasing Neusoft driver assistance, Fuwa robot, Adobe Air, Sobey real-time rendering and MID & mobile designs rounded out the event.

Techniques for playing with handicaps, fretboard explained, tricks and tips learned the hard way. Rickenbacker 12-string, Hamer, and Gibson ES-335 used. This particular Rickenbacker is a Rickenbacker 360-V64-12 (a copy of the 1st prototype Rickenbacker 12 presented George Harrison by the Rickenbacker Corporation). Although a beautiful instrument, it is somewhat diifficult to play due to very low frets and a narrow fingerboard (George Harrison commented on this as well) so I would not recommend it as a first choice for LMGP. The Tom Petty designed Rickenbacker model has a wider board and is widely touted as vastly easier to play -- I'd go with that as a first choice. That said, this 1999 Rickenbacker is certainly eye candy and can boom out some great sounding tunes if you're careful on the frets. This is a cool 'sports electric wheelchair' weighing only 44kg or 103 lbs (including batteries), designed in Australia by Colin Johanson. It won the ABC TV "New Inventors" program "2006 Viewers Choice Award" and we are working on commercialisig it. The video is worth the download to see the terrain that this amazing morphing electric wheelchair can negotiate, driven by Jonathan Jowers and filmed by Mark Duckworth, both of CATEA, Georgia Tech, Atlanta. In the stretched outdooor mode it can even bounce up and down gutters. In the short indoor mode, it can negotiate really tight corridors and doorways. Check it out!
