November 20th, 2008 at 22:29:26 put these guys in the ufc ring, theyd both be crushed.
November 20th, 2008 at 22:52:25 karate sucks its just punches and kicks this shit is way better
November 20th, 2008 at 23:15:24 (cont) For example, the main difference is san soo uses one knuckle punches to liver/spleen. Hammers/backhands to nose or throat. Piston kicks to groin. Eye gouging. You learn to punch correctly so that you can do damage at extremely close range by rotating correctly (Mike Tyson did this). One knuckle punching, or any hits that use the bodies weight effectively can cause serious damage when hitting a vital spot (ie. temple, jaw, liver, spleen, groin, etc) Combo them together, you have fighting.
November 20th, 2008 at 23:38:23 No, I never once said that bs movie stuff is possible. The problem is that ignorant people watch movies with 'kung-fu' and think that's how the actual art is. It's ridiculous. My cousin's grandfather actually owns the school I go to. There are no 1 hit kills, no chi blasts, or any other bs things like that. What is real and out there, is actual fighting. It's not mystical or ridiculous things, only ignorant people that base their knowledge on tv think that. (cont)
November 21st, 2008 at 00:01:22 hate to burst people's bubbles on this....but it's not possbile...chi is constant focus....not some "street fighter" video game crap. we are trained to hit certain points that can cause great pain in fights....and certain points that can cause cardiac arrest...but "chi" has nothing to do with it. i can use brute force...and i'm not a body builder and create the dim mak effect. i'm sorry...but the van damme bloodsport stuff...is not possible in a real knock down drag out fight..
November 21st, 2008 at 00:24:21 Kommisar, you are the first guy to post anything other than complete bullshit on here for quite some time. Kudos. Awesome hatemail on your profile by the way.
November 21st, 2008 at 00:47:20 Since you did "backyard rules" (which I deduce means very minimal rules like no eye gouging, etc.) did you use anything like chi blasts, dim mak, "vital point" strikes or the 1" punch, all those things characteristic of kung fu? I'm only asking because LARPers like Atrum keeps claiming such shit exists and can work in real fights, despite having absolutely no proof of it. Since you're an actual kung fu practitioner and have fought (at least you claim to) I thought you'd be the one to ask.
November 21st, 2008 at 01:10:19 You can't really call yourselves fighters when you don't fight. That's kind of common sense. Otherwise you're just a LARPer -- which is exactly what you are. So you can't do full-on sparring -- meaning you have to LARP most of it. Wow, that's quite the scam. And to think someone of your "intellect" has fallen for such a thing.... Yes, I'm sure such a school exists where everyone pisses blood from taking hits, yet none "choose" to do competitive fighting. Very telling indeed....
November 21st, 2008 at 01:33:18 This martial art and this man are amazing, I want to go to China and be the pupil at the hands of a master!
November 21st, 2008 at 01:56:17 (cont) I would advise you at least become informed before you argue. I've trained in San Soo, I've trained in JJ, and I've trained at a local MMA academy that does Muy Thai. Most MMA arts are great for a few things. Competitions, School/bar fights, and messing around with friends. The entire point of San Soo is that you can't do full on sparring. In the sparring we do I've been hit and pee'd blood for the next few days (they didn't pull the punch enough). Google Jimmy Woo to get a better idea.
November 21st, 2008 at 02:19:16 agreed..i am a trained, skilled martial artist that specializes in kung fu. i fought a 4th degree black belt in taekwondo and he held up very well. we played "back yard rules" though so it was an all out fight..not cornered or sanctioned. the only reason i won the match was due i was a faster than him. endurance and stamina can sometimes out weigh skill in a fight...so anything is possible
November 21st, 2008 at 02:42:15 Actually our instructor trained under Jimmy Woo, who was the first one to teach San Soo to non-asians. San Soo has NOTHING to do with chi or any of that bs. It's just joints, vital organs, and leverage, along with striking. Also, after you've trained for 3 years (to get a beginners skills) you start using weapons (traditional chinese ones). The main difference is that San Soo is made for real world fights, where you use everything around you to help gain an advantage. (cont.)
November 21st, 2008 at 03:05:14 Pfft, Im the master of Karate.
November 21st, 2008 at 03:28:13 (con.) The perfect gimmick: Instructors tell their students not to compete so their bullshit isn't exposed. The other part of the formula is saying how ineffective "sport" fighting is since there are all these rules, while they at the same time employ rules in their own mcdojos. Might hypocritical if you ask me. You need to get a clue and fast. The Chinese used WEAPONS to kill in warfare, not bare hands. We've been using weapons in battle forever, not our bare hands, dumbass.
November 21st, 2008 at 03:51:12 Unless san soo practitioners regularly seriously injure their sparring partners, the claim that their art is so deadly is a bunch of LARPing. If you never crippled a man with your chi blast the chances are you won't be able to confidently do it on the street. And surprise, surprise, not ONE san soo fighter has ever won anything, despite having plenty of legal moves at his disposal for competition. (con.)
November 21st, 2008 at 04:14:11 So this was a "fake" fight then? The monk didn't end it in seconds so you're obviously wrong. The only reasons so many street fights end so quickly is because the brawlers have no skill and are unconditioned. Go face a trained fighter with no rules and tell me how long you last. Oh, right, seconds, but him against another trained fighter it will be much longer. Get a fucking clue. You're saying that UFC fighters INTENTIONALLY draw the fights out? Wow, you are deluded as hell. Grow up.
November 21st, 2008 at 04:37:10 1:03 to 1:06 was crazy i wish i cud do that but soon enough

November 21st, 2008 at 06:09:06 The shaolin duck bill of death is unbeatable in competition.
November 21st, 2008 at 06:32:05 You guys are all about ignorant! Neither knows what a Shaolin monk is able to do!
