Now that sales are down the fans are holding Hip Hop to a higher level of responsibility, and until it lives up to that we will keep seeing decline. Don't underestimate the fact that Hip Hop's negativity may be catching up with it either, as evidenced by recent events, the world wants change...

Hip Hop is immortal bcuz of the impression it has left on the world(and not wit just music)think of how it penetrates culture (speech, clothing, thought).But considering what a prideful art-form Hip Hop is, fallin off is prolly worse than death. All forms of art, painting, sculpture, dance, clothing, and music, they go through phases, change, go out of fashion. Hip-hop is no different than any other art movement, it's in now, but in 10 years, who can say what it might be replaced by?
